Mitsubishi’s smallest SUV is available in ES, SE, XLS and GT trims. Front and all-wheel-drive models are offered for all version except the GT, which only comes with all-wheel drive. The new 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander car seat up to seven people. It competes with the Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota RAV-4 and Honda CRV.

The SE model ( starting at $22.995 MSRP for 2WD and $24.495 for AWC) includes all standard features plus AWC ( All-Wheel Control), compact stowable 3rd row seat, 18-inch alloy wheels, fast-key hands-free entry and starting system, 6 CD/MP3 in Dash CD Charger.

The 2012 Outlander XLS ($25.795 MSRP ) includes all standard features plus 6-speed Spectronic automatic transmission, FUSE hands-free link system with USB connection for MP3/iPod. The GT trim includes in plus S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control), and 18-inch aluminum wheels.
The 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is considered like a separate model.
For Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 ES and SE trims the disponible engine is an 2.4 liter DOHC MIVEC, 16 Valve that produce 168 hp and 167 lb-ft of torque. Mileage estimate for 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander with this engine is 23 MPG city/ 28 MPG on highway. The transmission for Outlander ES and SE is an CVT Sportronic (automatic transmission).
The engine of Outlander 2012 XLS and GT model is an 3.0 liter SOHC, MIVEC, V6, 24 valve that produce 230 horse-power and 215 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is an six-speed Sportronic with idle-neutral logic. The mileage estimates: 19MPG city/25mpg Highway.
